Fort Meade woman charged with attempted 2nd Degree Murder

Media Contact: Brian Bruchey, PIO

An argument over bed sheets and blankets evolved into a physical altercation that resulted with a woman being arrested for attempted murder.

PCSO deputies responded to a residence in Fort Meade at around 5:18 pm on Sunday, July 27, 2025, following the report of a battery occurring.

The victim told deputies and detectives that 26-year old Anaya Durandisse Williams had gotten extremely upset about about the type of bed sheets and blankets that the victim set up in Anaya's room.

Anaya escalated the argument further by grabbing the victim by her hair and hit her on the head with an empty glass bottle, causing the bottle to shatter.

The victim reported that Anaya also kicked and bit her.

When the victim grabbed a cell phone to call 911, Anaya armed herself with a knife and struck the victim with it, inflicting a minor laceration on her back.

During an interview with detectives, Anaya admitted to attacking the victim and stated that she did it because the victim is "overly-emotional and pushes people over the edge."

Anaya Durandisse Williams was arrested and taken to the Sheriff's Processing Center where she was booked-in and charged with: Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
